Black Salt
India
/
Mineral Blend
Not a true salt, Black Salt is actually a complex mineral compound with a rich sulfur content- this stuff stinks until you cook it. The sulfurous odor hits quickly and then dissipates to leave a deep, mineral salt taste. Perfect with seafood and in masalas from the Indian subcontinent. Also really good sprinkled on steaks...really.
Try with Nigella Caesar Dressing, Fresh Asparagus Soup, Savory Smashed Potatoes, Pasilla Oaxaca Black Bean Dip, Peppercorn Shortbread, Rooster Ramen with Black Garlic, Paprika Roasted Baby Potatoes with Black Garlic Aioli, Cuban Spiced Black Bean Soup, Blackberry-Poultry Rub Jam Grilled Cheese, Advieh-Spiced Persian Meatballs, Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Black Cardamom Pastries, Tea Rubbed Roast Chicken, English Beef Rub, Blackened Shrimp Bites, Bread & Butter Pickles, Big Love Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Chicken Drumsticks with Spices and Coconut Milk, Thackeray Ethiopian-Spiced Fried Chicken, Steamed Cuban Beef Buns (with Chicken Stock), Down South Goat Biryani, Cheddar Cheese Coins, Meatballs with Pumpkin & Spice Butter, and Raw "Couscous" Cauliflower with Almonds, Dried Cherries, and Sumac
