Bring the sunlit south of France home with a sprinkle of this aromatic blend. Balanced herbal notes enhance chicken, seafood, eggs, beans, and spring vegetables, or whisk into vinaigrettes for that effortless French je ne sais quoi.
Herbes de Provence transports you straight to the sun-drenched fields of southern France with just a sprinkle.
Originally, each household in southern France might have had its own version of this herb blend, reflecting the local flora and personal taste. This regional variability is what makes Herbes de Provence a fascinating study in culinary history. The blend as we know it today was popularized in the 1970s, but its roots go much deeper, with each herb having its own backstory of medicinal and culinary uses throughout European history.
We adore Herbes de Provence for its versatility and the effortless sophistication it brings to any dish. It's our go-to for elevating simple roasted vegetables or a plain roast chicken into something special. The blend's aromatic profile also makes it perfect for infusing into oils or vinegars, creating a base for a stunning salad dressing or marinade. Its ability to complement a wide range of dishes from soups to stews to baked goods means it's a constant presence in our pantry.
Discover how a pinch of lavender adds a touch of citrus, mint, and floral notes to your dishes, reminiscent of Provence's lavender fields. Lavender is a recent addition to this blend - added as an homage to the lavender fields in the region. Our blend keeps it classic and does not feature lavender, but you can always add a pinch yourself — about 1 tsp per 1/2 cup.

Herbs de Provence is an outstanding spice for spring & summer dishes. I have used it as the primary spice in
Sheet Pan Chicken Provencal & in the asparagus & goat cheese tart included with this review. Excellent flavor, long-lasting & refreshing.

Thank you for sharing. You have influenced what I want for dinner. Bon appétit!
It's hard to find a blend that doesn't contain lavender (which I understand is regional but I don't care for the scent or the flavor). It smells so earthy and I can't wait to try it.
Store owner replied:
Most do prefer Herbes de Provence without the lavender, mainly because a little bit goes a long way, and can easily be overpowering. That's why we like to use ours without lavender - we find it more versatile that way. Have fun cooking with it!

Thank you, we do our best to have the freshest ingredients, and pack them to keep them fresh and fragrant. All the better to make delicious food with, too.
I have bought Herbes De Provence from other venders in the past; but none of them had the fresh flavour that burst from the use of this one. It was extraordinary! I will be buying all my herbs and spices from World Spice from now on!

We're so happy you love it so much! Dried herbs seem to lose their flavor more quickly than spices, too, so when we find one of our favorite herbal blends that's so flavorful...it makes a huge difference in what we cook.
I sprinkle it on salmon right before I bake it. I also grind Hawaiian salt and grind coarse black pepper. Add a little diced garlic. I use the exact same seasonings when I pan sauté shrimp. Everyone loves the way I use these seasonings.

So happy it’s your new go-to! Keep those sauces simmering! 🍲👩🍳
Excellent product. Although it’s dried it is still pungent. Not like a dried spice that’s years old. I also like that it doesn’t contain fennel seeds which are hard when bitten.

Happy cooking! 🍳

If you want fresh spices with real flavor, get your spices from World Spice. The Herbs de Provence is very fragrant and flavorful. It was packaged very well, shipped quickly and the daye it was packaged was on the package. I cannot say enough good things about this company.
Great product, absurd purchasing options! We absolutely love the WS Herbes De Provence and have been using it for years, it is the best! The 3 size choices of .63 ozs, 1.27 ozs, or ONE POUND is nuts! I'm disappointed that WS doesn't offer the choice of 4 ozs or half a pound.
Since 1995 we've sourced and blended the finest flavors we can find. Nearly all of our spices are available whole or ground, and we grind in small batches shortly before shipping.
