One of the more delicate leaf herbs around, dill releases a bouquet of herbaceous flavor with a little sour accent. Bright green color in the leaf and notable aromas are good signs that your dill weed is fresh. To get the most flavor from your dill weed, sprinkle it into your dish right before serving or limit yourself to the shortest cooking times possible, for the flavors dissipate quickly when heat is applied.
A signature flavor in the classic Ranch Seasoning, dill weed is also perfect for dusting on fish fillets or added to vegetable sautés and chowder.
Dill weed is celebrated for its delicate, feathery leaves and a distinct aroma that combines a slightly earthy base with a hint of refreshing zest. This herb is a key player in the classic Ranch Seasoning, imparting a unique flavor that complements creamy dressings and dips. The herb's light, almost ethereal quality makes it a perfect match for delicate flavors like fish and various vegetable dishes, where it adds a fresh, spring-like note.
Dill weed, with its delicate, fresh flavor, has been a cherished herb since ancient times. Originating in the Mediterranean region, it was used by the Greeks and Romans for both its culinary and medicinal properties. In Greek cuisine, it is a key ingredient in tzatziki, a cooling yogurt-based sauce that pairs beautifully with grilled meats. Eastern European kitchens use dill weed prominently in borscht, a beetroot soup where it adds a vibrant, herbal note. Its use extends to Scandinavian dishes, where it enhances flavors in gravlax and pickled herring.
We love dill weed for its delicate yet unmistakable flavor, a gentle touch that enhances rather than overwhelms. It adds a subtle lift to salads, fish, and yogurt-based sauces, offering just the right amount of brightness.
Ancient Greeks and Romans believed dill could ward off bad dreams. They would place sprigs of dill under their pillows or in the bedroom to promote peaceful sleep.

Very fresh aroma and super clean and colorful. Great addition for potatoes and so much more. This is a staple in our kitchen

Love hearing this. Dill Weed really is so fresh and bright. Glad it’s become a staple in your kitchen for potatoes and beyond!
A chef from Sweden once claimed that you could never use too much dill. And I took it to heart. While fresh dill rules, World Spice’s dried dill is a close second — for roasting chicken, making borscht, tuna salad or brightening up hummus. It’s an herb that keeps things fresh all year long.
Store owner replied:
Having a fresher dried dill weed makes such a difference in any recipe, doesn't it? It also makes us want to add them to more recipes, too. Such good flavor!
I got this from you because it's hard to find in the regular stores
Store owner replied:
Absolutely, for salads, dressings, seafood (especially salmon!).
World Spice dill is fresh and fragrant. Adds a beautiful flavor to countless dishes from roasted chicken to beet borscht, scrambled eggs and tuna salad. One of my favorite herbs year-round, but especially in the spring & summer!

Very flavorful - best dried dill i have purchased.
Store owner replied:
That’s wonderful to hear, Kathleen! A good dried dill should be bright and fragrant, and it’s great to know this one stands out for you. Happy cooking! 🌿✨
Fishes dishes taste amazing with dill...I also make my own cream cheese and add it to it
This is an updated review. I received a refund after I left my previous review. Upon learning that a new supply was in stock, I reordered and am happy with the quality. We can and smoke/freeze tuna and add dill weed to all our tuna salads.
Store owner replied:
Thank you,I’m so glad to hear the new batch of dill weed met your expectations—your tuna salads must be amazing with that fresh, aromatic touch. We’re grateful to have you as a customer and appreciate your thoughtful update! 🌿✨
Been ordering this from you for years and it always wowed me with the smell. This batch has no dill smell at all. Old. Disappointed.
Store owner replied:
Thanks for the review! 🌿 We’re glad you’re enjoying the fresh dill flavor and the convenience of not having to worry about it spoiling. Thanks for sharing your favorite uses! 🍳🥗🥒
Out of desperation, my husband purchased a jar of Dill from the grocery store to put in the Borscht he made for dinner. It tasted like weeds with a little yard clippings… awful! Two days later the Dill I had ordered from WS arrived, what a huge difference. Such a great addition to our Borscht experience… thank you!
When winter arrives and the fresh dill is not as fresh and more expensive, the dried dill works quite well. The dill fHas fresh aromatic notes, and is a good substitute. in the colder months. Fresh aromatics, nice herbaceous notes.
Reliable This is such a staple in my house and always fresh. I like being able to buy this in bulk because we are always using it— definitely better than from the store.
Since 1995 we've sourced and blended the finest flavors we can find. Nearly all of our spices are available whole or ground, and we grind in small batches shortly before shipping.
