Tian Hong

China / Camellia sinensis

Grown in the Meng Ku area of Yunnan Provence in southern China, Tian Hong is a beautifully delicate tea. Made from a large-leaf varietal, its highly fermented, golden tipped leaves produce a brew that is fresh and smooth with a full-bodied malty flavor, accompanied by a floral nose and a surprising natural sweetness. Often presented as gifts to European Ambassadors and other elites in the 19th century, Tian Hong is still considered to be the finest of the black teas produced in China.

Brewing Instructions: Brew 3 minutes at 210°F; 1 steeping.
