Camel's Breath Tuo Cha

Yunnan, China / Camellia sinensis
  • Double sized pu erh toucha

Each tuo cha, a firmly pressed pellet of tea, has been aged in buried bamboo baskets for five years. The result, when brewed properly, is a spectrum of flavors starting with a dark musty character, often compared to a forest floor after a rain storm, to a sweet finish. The tou cha must be rinsed and broken before steeping to aid in the release of flavor.

Brewing Instructions: Brew 1 to 3 minutes at 205°F; 1 to 5 steepings (for multiple steepings, use the shorter brew time).
