This fine example of Assam is grown on the Khongea Estate in the lowlands of Assam, India. The heavy rains of the monsoon season in this region are what give Assam tea its classic "malty" characteristic. This particular tea has a unique sweetness, reminiscent of wildflower honey. Its brisk flavor and medium body make it ideal as breakfast tea, though the World Spice team takes it all day long, buoyed by milk and sugar in the British tradition. This crop is easily the best we've seen in years, sure to please longtime Assam drinkers and new converts alike.
Brew for 2 to 3 minutes at 205°F; 1 steeping.
