The ghost chile, bhut jolokia, is a naturally occurring chile hybrid from the Assam region of Northeast India. Not only does ghost chile pack a wallop of heat - more than twice that of habanero - it has a rich flavor profile to go along with it. Hints of tomato and tamarind will come through with a wave of intense heat.
If you like intense heat, this is a fun chile to play with! Try ghost chile infused in tequila, popped in a pot of chili or to add pep to a sweet potato pie. Ghost chile also infuses nicely into honey where the sweet can counterpoint the heat.
