

Myristica fragrans

Nutmeg loses its flavor rapidly, so its best to grind this large oval seed only as needed. An obvious topping for eggnog and lattes it is also used extensively in French cream sauces and soups. Try it with chicken, spinach and mushrooms. A natural with custards and all manner of desserts.
