Amomum sublatum

Not a true cardamom, but a coarse brown pod with about 40 seeds and a decidedly smoky aroma. Not only are the seeds nice in curries and rice dishes, but the husks of the pods make a great smoking agent when soaked and thrown on hot coals in the grill.
