For holiday toasts, or to ward off the chill any time! Pour wine or cider into pan or kettle, and set over low-medium heat. Measure 2 tablespoons of mulling spice for each quart of wine or cider into steeping bag or tea basket, or tie off in cheesecloth, and add to pot or kettle. Do not allow to boil. Steep 20 minutes or more. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavors. Remove spices after steeping to avoid bitterness. Serve in hearty mugs with a jaunty cinnamon stick swizzler. |
